Little Gringo is an American company dedicated to creating educational children’s books in Portuguese. The company was founded by a Brazilian Mom, determined to teach Portuguese to her Little Gringa.
The company’s founder, Ana Cristina Gluck, is also the graphic artist and author of the first collection "Palavras" (Words), which consists of four books: Alfabeto (Alphabet), Animais (Animals), Cores (Colors) and Números (Numbers).
The Palavras Collection is designed to help young children to learn their first words in Portuguese through association with realistic photographs. Each book includes carefully selected images, vibrant colors and a simple layout, allowing babies and toddlers to enjoy the pleasure of learning and discovery!
Ana Cristina Gluck was born and grew up in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She moved to the United States in 1999, where she completed her college education, got married, and began a successful graphic design career in New York City. In early 2013 she became an Art Director.
Following the birth of her first daughter in 2011, Ana Cristina realized how important it was that she pass on her native language and culture to her children. However, she quickly learned that, within the United States, it was difficult to find educational children’s books in Portuguese. As a result, she decided to create her own line of books and founded Little Gringo.
Ana Cristina plans to create additional children’s books in Portuguese, as well as in other languages. She believes that bilingual children have advantages in life when it comes to education, professional career and relationships.
